Waxes for Rigid PVC Products

    PVC rigid products include PVC sheets, pipes, fittings, profiles, etc. Due to the high melt viscosity and poor fluidity of rigid PVC, even if the injection pressure and melt temperature are increased, the fluidity does not change significantly. In addition, the molding temperature of the resin is very close to its thermal decomposition temperature, resulting in a narrow temperature range for molding, making it a difficult-to-mold material. Therefore, certain performance additives need to be added during the processing and molding of rigid polyvinyl chloride products.

    Qihong oxidized polyethylene wax and polyethylene wax can be used in the processing of PVC rigid products, playing roles in plasticization, mold release, and lubrication, while also providing other auxiliary functions.

    High-density oxidized polyethylene wax is a high-temperature lubricant polymerized through high-molecular oxidation. With a certain amount of carboxyl and hydroxyl groups in its molecular structure, it serves as a high-performance functional processing aid. This rigid, high-melting-point, high-density oxidized polyethylene homopolymer powder enhances product surface properties, including corrosion resistance, wear resistance, and aging resistance.

When applied in heat shrinkable tapes and sleeves, the hydroxyl and carbonyl groups in its molecules can form chemical bonds and strong van der Waals forces with the metal bonds of steel. Thus, it fuses with the steel surface at high temperatures under organic coating, resulting in strong adhesion.

In rigid products such as PVC foam boards, its applications include:

1. Enhancing plasticization while reducing torque, with a high softening point and good hardness;
2. Reducing the adhesion of thermoplastic melts, increasing melt fluidity, improving mold release, and boosting production output;
3. Enhancing the gloss and appearance of finished products, and shortening production cycles;
4. Compared with polyethylene wax, it significantly improves compatibility with emulsions, fillers, pigments, and polar resins, and exhibits excellent dispersing effects.
