Compared with ordinary paraffin, oxidized paraffin has many advantages. It has good emulsifying performance: introducing a large number of oxygen-containing groups reduces the interfacial tension during emulsification, enabling the preparation of stable emulsions and reducing the amount of emulsifier used. It has excellent lubricity: the addition of polar groups during oxidation endows it with lubricating properties in plastic processing, lowering processing temperatures, facilitating demolding, and enhancing the surfacesmoothness of products. It exhibits good pigment dispersibility: deeply oxidized wax contains a large number of carboxyl groups, which have good affinity with basic pigments, enabling excellent pigment dispersion and brighter colors. Its oil solubility is enhanced: by adjusting the oxidation depth, the solubility parameter of oxidized wax can be matched with that of solvent oil, thereby improving solubility. It has improved flexibility: oxidation introduces functional groups such as esters and ethers into the wax molecular structure, endowing the modified wax with good flexibility and ensuring that the formed film is not prone to cracking at low temperatures.

Oxidized paraffin can be used as a waterproof and moisture-proof coating for packaging food, pharmaceuticals and other commodities. Coated packaging can effectively extend the shelf life of commodities and prevent premature deterioration.
